This ensemble was born in Miami as a result of the musical aspirations of its members. Their individual desire and creativity drew them together to develop a fusion of the fundamental roots of Cuban Son with various different rhythms and musical styles. Such fusion could not be possible if not for the extensive formal education in conservatories and universities in Cuba , Venezuela and the United States. This accompanied by the experience acquired by working along side music greats such as Celia Cruz, Albita Rodriguez, Oscar D’Leon, Natalie Cole, Paquito D’Rivera, Rocio Jurado, Diango and Millie Quesada just to name a few, have made this group of exceptional musicians what we know today as SIX SON: Fernado Pina (drummer/musical director) Dennis Fernandez (lead vocal) Fernando Alonso (piano&chorus) Vivian Pupo (congas&chorus) Ed Quintana (Ewi controller) Daniel Stable (bass)
