Yolanda Yawa has made her name across South African as one of the most talented vocalists our country has to offer. She is the voice of the acclaimed group CODA, and has performed for various bands over the years. In addition to her ongoing role as CODA�s vocalist, Yolanda also offers a solo performance with her acoustic band. The musical styles include Kwela, Afro Jazz, Reggae & Latino. Former singer & dancer of the Women Unite Marimba Dance Band, Yolanda has been performing her since she was 10. Her remarkable voice has provided her with numerous performing opportunities including lead singer of the Jazz Band Kani, and member of the Afro-Latin Jazz Band, Tucan Tucan. In Durban, Yolanda has shared a stage with Tu Nokwe, Drums Across and Judith Sephuma. She has travelled extensively with Women Unite and has performed concerts in Finland and Argentina, the latter for the April 1999 elections. With Tucan Tucan, Yolanda has travelled locally and internationally including tours of Mozambique and Italy. With formal training in Ballet and African Contemporary Dance, she adds an exciting element to performances with her exceptional dance skills. She has performed as a dancer with Jimmy Dludlu. A finalist in the Miss Cape Town Competition, Yolanda is a charismatic performer who keeps audiences entranced her breath-taking voice, captivating image and cutting edge dance skills.
