The extraordinary Acadian quartet from Prince Edward Island, Barachois is one of Canada's national treasures. Whether they are selling out over 80 shows at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in their native PEI, or playing a main-stage spot to tens thousands at a major music festival, their marvelously melodic and at times insanely zany act causes crowds to go crazy, leaping to their feet, shrieking, clapping and hollering for more!

Albert Arsenault is a remarkable emcee whose comic gift and lightning-quick wit give him the ability to play a crowd like a virtuoso. Keyboard player Helene Arsenault-Bergeron anchors the harmonies with quicksilver touch on piano. Chuck Arsenault is as inspiring as a clown as he is on the guitar, French horn, sousaphone and mouth organ. Altogether driven by the fiery fiddle playing of Louise Arsenault, whose feet click-out that lickety-split rhythm, the quartet is any presenter's guarantee of a good time.
With their eclectic alchemy of humor and top-notch musicianship, each song conjures up a slice of Acadian social history, with many songs incorporating props and costumes to illustrate the humor of Acadian community life. Their sound shows a Celtic influence, but the show is much more than that. And with the lyrics being all in French, audiences enjoy their "true" uniqueness while understanding the plot of the stories by one of the members' introductions (dialog and song introductions all in English). Oh yeah, and they all step dance like mad!!
