Duval Chamberlain, known as D. Chamberz, is an up-and-coming artist from the “Last Stop in New York,” Coney Island. Through his raspy, assertive voice you can hear his passion in every song. Whether it’s joy or pain, love or hate, flossin’ or wisdom, D. Chamberz brings an authenticity to Hip Hop that is sorely missed.
He uses his knowledge of the street to his advantage, he watches the market...he studies the competition...and he makes strategic moves to take over his lane.
Some might think D. Chamberz glorifies “the streets” like many hustlers-turned-rappers before him. In fact, he gives you the best of both worlds: the real “street” emotions and experiences and the wisdom of someone who’s on to bigger and better things. Some of his influences include such rap greats as 2-Pac, DMX, and Kool G Rap, while he also claims he is influenced by Ron Isley, and Isaac Hayes. Anyone who has heard his music would say he sounds like a great blend of early Cam’Ron, and early DMX.
He has worked with countless New York City pioneers, ranging from DJ Clark Kent, DJ Cutmaster C and Lil’ Fame of M.O.P. He has also worked with many relevant artists in New York City today, including Mysonne, Saigon, Esso, Math Hoffa and Mike
Beck. His team is full of today’s best in the battling circuit, consisting of Math Hoffa, Liaison, Goodz, Hanz, and Cortez. Not only does D. Chamberz make noise in the battling circuit, but his performance is refined and tested through every line of his lyrics. Whether it’s rocking stadiums (2005’s Hot 97 Summer Jam), opening for Maino, Cappadonna, Illa Ghee, Agallah Tha Don, open mics (Drahma Magazine, Mental Supreme’s Training Camp, Don Hills), or his memorable appearances on Smack and Don Diva DVDs, D. Chamberz simply has “it;” the right combination of skills, charisma, and a relentless work ethic.
D. Chamberz has most recently he has been featured on some of today’s biggest hip-hop sites including The Source Magazine, OnSmash, WorldStarr / WorldStarrUncutt, ThisIs50, Hot 97 Trend Report, Grind Season, UHTN, 2DopeBoyz, FedsTV, Global Grind, Xclusives Zone, Hip Hop Ruckus, My HipHop Life, Bucktown USA, The Society Online, TrueStories, Unsigned Grind, and Stuff Fly People Like. His videos are accredited to his recent buzz spike. “Coney Island Warriors,” directed by King Scenario) received over 320K views on OnSmash alone (prior to its demise; now available on iTunes). D. Chamberz has also worked with director Puma countless others. His version of “Freestyle-Fridays” is steadily receiving five thousand downloads on their immediate release.
