The “Surfing Safaris” are a tribute band recreating the great surf and beach party music of the 1960s and beyond. Sometimes referred to as a "Beach Boogie Band", The Surfing Safaris provide an energetic trip back to an unforgettable era in Rock and Roll History. Unlike other tribute bands that emulate one group, the Surfing Safaris emulate a genre of music, and inject a new energy and breathe of “fresh ocean air” into it. Led by Bob Fetherolf on guitar and vocals, the band has been riding a wave of success. Recent television appearances on “Today in LA” promoting the band and their shows at The Aquarium of the Pacific and a thirteen week engagement at the Spa resort showroom in Palm Springs have kept the band very busy. Playing surf classics from Dick Dale - The Ventures – The Beach Boys-- - Jimmy Buffett – Bob Marley, and classic “Old School ” 50s+60s, as well as other Bob Fetherolf arrangements, this band is a must see! Come to the show dressed for a beach party with an attitude! Bob’s well known surf guitar medley provides the force of a big beat and an intricate and creative arrangement never heard before. From serious and powerful instrumental surf standards like Misrilou (Dick Dale) with a Spanish guitar ending, to light-hearted and upbeat vocal renditions of beach boy songs with shimmering vocals, to Bob Marley reggaes, thru the Jimmy Buffett beach songs, you will hear your favorites again “for the first time”! Bob always puts on a show for the audience, and this show often includes members of the audience playing drum solos with the band, singing along, twisting with hula hoops and more. This band is truly “Family Friendly” so bring the kids and dance the night away!
