In the early '80s, Quiet Riot became one of the first metal bands to hit the top of the pop charts with their remake of Slade's "Cum On Feel the Noize." Their album Metal Health was the first metal band ever to reach #1 in the US charts!
By that time, Quiet Riot had been recording for a number of years, experiencing several changes. During the late '70s, the band was a straight ahead metal group, distinguished by the talented young guitarist Randy Rhoads; he left in 1979 to join Ozzy Osbourne's band, causing Quiet Riot to change their sound slightly, adding more pop elements to their hard rock tunes. Throughout the '80s, the band was a solid concert attraction. In 1988, the band broke up; vocalist Kevin DuBrow assembled a new version of Quiet Riot in 1993 for a tour and an album, both well received.
Quiet Riot, Frankie Banali, Kevin DuBrow, Carlos Cavazo and Rudy Sarzo rock-it up harder than ever on Quiet Riot's biggest and best return to rock music! They have reunited after 13 years, and spent all of 97-98 on the road playing to sold out shows in the US, Canada, South America, and Central America as co-headliners on the Rock Never Stops tour. With 14 tracks, including 8 new tracks of sizzling metal riffs and rock chords, Quiet Riot is more than "Alive & Well" - they're better than ever before!
