Williams & Ree / "The Indian & The White Guy"
Bruce Williams and Terry Ree met at Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S.D., in 1968 where they both claimed to be majoring in draft dodging. They began playing together in a band, and filled the time between songs with their brand of humor. Their humor became a bigger draw than their band, and so the comedy team was born. The two polished their act at the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles during the 1970's, testing out new material and tightening their act. They have toured across the nation sharing the stage with acts such as Garth Brooks, The Oak Ridge Boys, Randy Travis and others. They have also made their mark in television, appearing often on The Nashville Network. Their show is lively, fast paced, funny and full of zings interspersed with songs. "The truth of the matter is that we pick on everyone, no matter what their background," said Ree. "We do songs, we do comedy. Actually, I don't like to label it comedy. I just think we entertain people." For nearly three decades, this pair has developed a camaraderie on stage that keeps their act fresh and lively. It's obvious ad libbing comes easy to them as they seek material from their crowds, even bringing people up on stage to "assist" them in their act. "We have this innate ability to play off each other and every show is different," said Williams. "We always try to incorporate some local humor in the act."
