Bryan Frasher
Bryan was born and raised in the mountains of West Virginia (Fort Gay , W.V., pop. 750pp). After high school Bryan attended Marshal University, in Huntington W.V., to study music and received a bachelors degree in classical guitar performance. During those college days he played hundreds of dates with various bands and as a solo performer. After college he traveled west to Los Angeles to continue his study of music. While living there he became a regular on the coffeehouse circuit and played many shows up and down the west coast, but it wasn�t too long before he decided to move to Nashville. "Moving to Nashville was a natural progression. The environment is much more conducive to the kind of music I write and enjoy playing. It�s also closer to my family and that�s very important to me", he explains. Bryan arrived in Nashville during the summer of 1994 driving a yellow, 1972, Cadillac Coup deVille, that he�d bought for $800 dollars. It was packed with everything he owned, "I only had a few cassettes to listen to on that trip; Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin and the Stanley Brothers..... some of my biggest influences." His first three months in town Bryan slept on the living room floor of a close friend because he couldn�t afford his own apartment, and ended up riding another friends motorcycle to work when the old Cadillac took a turn for the worse. To make ends meet he worked as a painter, a carpenter and a studio backline tech before landing his first professional job in Nashville with Tanya Tucker. With his extensive touring experience and visits to "The Tonight Show", the " Late Show with David Letterman" and the "Grand Ole Opry" as well as performing in January for Washington dignitaries and even President George W. Bush, Bryan's reputation as a soulful, cross genre musician is quickly spreading. Music from the upcoming album has already found itself in episodes of "Talelights" as seen on Bravo.
