At the early age of 10, Alicia Myers' parents, Lawrence and Margaret Myers bought musical instruments for their children with hopes that they might become professional entertainers. Little did they know, their middle child, Alicia, would go on to become an international known recording artist, utilizing the talents of her siblings as band members and dancers.

It all started after she and her brother Jackie won a talent contest at Detroit's Eastern High School with their interpretation of Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell's "Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing." They formed a band called the Movemistics, and a girl trio called the Mildtones, playing local clubs and banquet halls throughout the Detroit area.

The Mildtones dissolved, and Alicia's popularity began to grow, she continued to work between two bands, the Movemistics and The Soul Partners now known as One Way. Shortly after, Alicia joined a group called The Sins of Satan, who later became known as Round Trip. She then left Round Trip to become one of the lead vocalists for One Way.

With One Way, she co-wrote and sang lead on several popular hits such as "You Can Do It", "Music" and "Do Your Thang" on ABC Records (now Universal Records). While with One Way, she performed to sold-out audiences throughout The United States, Africa, Europe and Canada.

Impressed with Alicia's vocal abilities, as well as the public's response, Perk's Music and MCA Records decided that it was time for her to pursue a Solo project. The outcome was her phenomenal 1981 self-titled debut album, "Alicia", produced by One Way's bassist/writer, Kevin McCord. This album brought us such wonderful hits as "I Want To Thank You" (still an anthem throughout east coast dance clubs), If You Play Your Cards Right" (re-recorded by Brownstone in 1997, and the late Tupac Shakur in 1998), and "Don't Stop What You're Doin".

Alicia recorded four successful albums throughout the 1980's. Her fourth, "I Appreciate", did so well that The Music Marathon & The New Music Awards vote her finalist (along with Tina Turner, who won the award) in the category of best female artist in 1984. The album contains the smash release "Say, Say, Say" (which she performed on Soul Train), "I Just Can't Stay Away" (a soulful remake of the Natalie Cole ballad), and "Don't Do Me This Way" (which basketball great and rapper Shaquille O'Neil sampled on his 1997 CD).

Alicia toured with her band of siblings, relatives and friends, establishing a huge following as special guest for Ashford and Simpson, The O'Jays, Peabo Bryson, The Whispers, and the late Roger Troutman of Zapp, to name a few. The impressive list of fans that have attended her concerts include Luther Vandross, Magic Johnson, Quincy Jones, Cicely Tyson and the late, great Miles Davis, and many other celebrities and dignitaries. Alicia states: "I thank the Heavenly Father and loyal fans for the never-ending love and support."
