Suzette delighted her home-state fans in the audience as the talent winner representing New Jersey in The Miss America Pageant of 1984, and as everyone was quick to see, her performing career was very well established already. After Suzette's service as Miss America 1984, she continued her successful singing career. Wed to ophthalmologist and plastic surgeon, Leonard Bley of New York, Suzette is also the proud mother of young daughter, Hannah. She says of her motherhood role, "Hannah has turned the entertainer in me into a wonderful wife and mother. It is such a rewarding profession." Suzette Charles replaced, Vanessa Williams as the 57th Miss America -- in the last two months of Ms. William's reign.
